Happy Spring!

Athens is abloom and greening up already and it's a lovely sight to see! These past few weeks have had some beautiful weather...and our usual dose of the green haze that us Southerners have grown to expect this time of year.
But nonetheless, I can't help but love how pretty everything is getting.
And since the oppressive heat of mid-summer is right around the corner, I encourage everyone to get out and eat dinner on your deck or hang out on some patio of some restaurant downtown.
Enjoy!!

Abbey Road LIVE! at The Melting Point

So, not exactly about real estate, but Abbey Road LIVE! is one of my very favorite bands.  They're all incredibly talented and they give such a great spin on the Beatles without coming off cheesy or sounding like copy cats.  Just some really incredible musicians honoring the iconic music made by some unbelievably talented boys a long time ago.
If you're looking for something to do this Friday night, March 30th, at 9:00 p.m., check them out at The Melting Point in Athens.  A good time will be had by all.  I promise.
Just another reason Athens is such a great place to live.

Georgia Dream Loan Program

I have a client who is interested in using the Georgia Dream loan program. If you're not familiar with it, check it out HERE.
It does have some income restrictions, but it really looks interesting.
Might be a way for some first time buyers to get into the show while the list prices are down.
Food for thought...

Happy Thanksgiving, Athens!

I have always thought that Christmas decorations before Thanksgiving were done too early.  But now, I really enjoy how beautiful Athens is decorated and have decided that it is just one more thing to be thankful for.  We live in a lovely part of the country with so many wonderful surrounding areas.  I'm probably biased since I choose to live here, but this northeast Georgia area is truly a gem with many quaint little towns and picturesque views in between.
One other thing that I am thankful for is getting my listing at 806 Tabby Lane on the cover of the current Homes and Land Magazine!  CLICK HERE to check it out!

Happy Thanksgiving to all from my family to yours!

Fall is Coming!

With Fall around the corner, Athens is bustling with tons of energy. As far as our local economy goes, this is the primo time for all of our merchants. The whole city benefits from UGA football. I do love football season in general, but Fall is really my favorite time of year no matter where I am. Weather has a lot to do with it, of course. And all of my favorite holidays are near, so even better.
Enough of my personal sentiments on Fall...back to Athens. It does truly feel like the whole city takes a deep breath in the spring with graduation and Twilight Criterium and AthFest and just let's it out in a slow sigh over six home games through the Fall and some cherished off weekends. Weddings run rampant, parents visit more often, holiday plans are made. Just a great time of year!
....And some beautiful weather to drive around and see some houses! (Had to get that in!)

Welcome Back, UGA!

Living in a college town has its ups and downs, but there is a tangible energy when students come back from the summer break.  It really revitalizes this place!  The hustle and bustle of folks moving in, shopping for books, trying out new restaurants, new professors and staff bringing in new families, joining community organizations, etc.  There are so many changes here every fall.  And I can truly only speak for myself, but I never grow tired of the turnover each August.  I think it keeps some of us "permanent" folks from getting stale!
